It is
a Grade I listed building. The
Church dominates the village square at the centre of Wrotham, a village of
just under 800 households and some 2,500 inhabitants, lying on the
It is the second church to be built on the site, the first dating back to the middle of the 10th century, and has always been dedicated to St George, which was relatively rare at the time of its consecration.
Access to St George's Church
Work to install accessible, step free access via the top
entrance to the churchyard (entrance opposite the Village Hall)
to the church has now been completed. The rails for the stairs
are now installed. The lighting
for the path from the top entrance is delayed for the forseeable
future, please bring a torch if attending the church after
dark.The lighting under the tower will come on as you approach.
The church is open from 9.30am until 4.00pm.
